No Boundaries 5K

Nobo

"LEARN TO RUN" PROGRAM-SPONSORED BY NEW BALANCE

 SESSIONS START SAT, January 7.

No Boundaries is a beginner 5K (3.1 miles) training program designed for people who don't run or have recently started running as well as those who have a hard time sticking to a running program or are unsure what to do.  We use run/walk intervals and slowly ramp-up the time spent running and distance covered until you can complete a full 5k (3.1 miles).  While No Boundaries focuses on beginners, all levels of walkers and runners are welcome.

The program is structured to help you cross the finish line in just 10 weeks!  Along the way we’ll provide you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus, you’ll have the camaraderie of others just like you!

For those who have successfully completed a 5k before, we will offer a separate training program for you designed to help you run faster and more comfortably.

Our next No Boundaries programs begin on January 7.   We will have two sessions this winter - Saturday mornings at the store and Monday evening's downtown under the Bushnell Park Arch. Both programs last 10 weeks and graduate with the Max O'Hartford 5k on Sunday, March 18.  Each session will accommodate both beginner and advanced groups.

The West Hartford group meets at the store every Saturday at 9:00 am.  The downtown group meets Mondays under the Bushnell Park Arch at 5:00 pm.  First practice for the West Hartford/Saturday programs will be January 7.  First practice for the Downtown/Monday programs will be January 9.

No one is too old or too slow for this program so be courageous and join us!  You do not need to make every practice in order to successfully complete the program - though first time participants who finish the program earn a sweet running jacket.
You can register online or at the store.

The $95 program fee includes 10 coached group runs (plus optional runs during the weekday) with guidance on proper form, a proven training plan that incorporates optional run/walk intervals, technical team shirt, a weekly e-newsletter to motivate and educate and a whole lot of fun and camaraderie!

To learn more, plan on attending our "Meet the Coaches/Information Night" on Wednesday, January 4 at 7pm (at the store).
