Triathlon Training Programs

Fleet Feet Tri Training

Have you ever thought of doing a Triathlon but didn't know how to get started? Or, do you have triathlon experience and want to improve your sprint triathlon times?

Fleet Feet Sports is excited to offer our Sprint Triathlon Program again this year. This program is designed for the new triathlete as well as for the triathlete wanting to improve their sprint triathlon race splits.

For those new to the sport, the training program will put an emphasis on creating a fun, comfortable and motivating atmosphere for learning the fundamentals of swimming, biking, running, transitions, equipment, nutrition and mental planning. For those looking to set some personal records, we address all of the above with additional guidance-targeting those details that shave seconds. Our goal race is the first Lake Terramuggus Sprint Triathlon on May 31.

The program fee is $295 and includes:

  • Detailed weekly training plans and e-newsletter
  • Weekly coached group trainings and education clinics
  • Swim Instruction at Cornerstone Aquatics (underwater video analysis available)
  • Bike skill training
  • Running form analysis
  • Course preview sessions
  • Speedier Transition tricks
  • Hartford Extended Area Triathletes H.E.A.T mentorship program
  • Technical t-shirt
  • Discount on triathlon apparel and gear
  • Lots of fun and camaraderie!

The training program will begin the week of March 5, 2012.  It will be limited to 35 people in order to provide a low coach-to-participant ratio.  We will hold an information meeting at Fleet Feet Sports this Thursday (Feb 16) at 7pm and will formally open registration at the end of the meeting. Online registration will be available beginning on Friday and will close when all slots are taken.

Coach AmyThis program is designed and coached by Amy D'Anna - Fleet Feet staffer and 3-time Ironman finisher (she is currently training for her 4th Ironman this summer). Amy is a USAT certified triathlon coach and has 12 years of triathlon experience. She will be joined by many accomplished triathletes/triathlon coaches with numerous years of racing/mentoring experience.

Interested in training for an Olympic Triathlon? Coach Amy will be offering a second training session beginning in early June for an Olympic Triathlon at the end of August. Stay tuned or email Amy for details!
